U.S. PROPRETIES SELLS LYRIC HALL FOR $200,000

U.S. PROPERTIES, INC. SELLS LYRIC HALL FOR $200,000.

NEW LONDON, CT - Susan Howard and Jim White of U.S. Properties, Inc. sold Lyric Hall at 243 State Street, New London for $200,000 to the BF, LLC of Old Saybrook.

The sellers, Basil and Theodore Monemvasitis, owned the Whaler Restaurant, located on the first floor, for over 25 years. The 13,000 s/f building was built in the late 1800's. At the turn of the 20th century, the first floor was an interior decorating company. Lyric Hall, located on the second floor, consisted of the main ballroom, orchestra stage and balcony. The second floor front offices overlooked State Street as did the third and fourth floor apartments.

Howard and White represented both the sellers and the buyer. C. George Kanabis of Kanabis & Houle provided legal services to the sellers. Donna R. Skaats of Norwich represented the buyer.
